I walked into the Sofitel Los Angeles at Beverly Hills in a Tiffany Blue gown, and before I could take it all in, someone was hugging me. Then someone else. Then someone was pulling me onto the dance floor.
It was 2025, and The Event Bar was turning ten. My famous quote has always been “if you keep on believing, the dreams you wish will come true“, and ten years felt like a milestone I had to celebrate. So I did what I do best, and I planned a party.
It was crazy to plan something for myself. I knew exactly what I wanted, down to every detail: every guest in classic black, and me in Tiffany Blue.
Ten years, one room, and every person who helped me build it.
About 200 people came in and out all night: the families I’ve had the honor of celebrating, and the photographers, florists, designers and DJs who started as colleagues and became my friends. We don’t work against each other. We work together, for the families we serve.
I’ll be honest, it was super overwhelming. My whole career is about standing on the sidelines and making other people the center of the room. That night, I was the center, and I had to learn how to just enjoy it.
I surprised myself that I was even able to make it happen. And I left knowing that dreams really do come true.
